Re: TCS vacuum line
Those details for the 70 base engine were provided by Roberto Luis a few years back, and are in the archives, assuming the photo host hasn't changed. Try searching ALL TERMS, Roberto Luis vacuum tube. Unless the Doc has broadened his offerings, it's not reproduced.- Top

Re: TCS vacuum line
OK, the thread was posted on January 31, 2001 (Good grief...I thought it was a couple of years ago!). No photos remain. I thought I remembered Roberto furnishing a dimensioned diagram, but I don't see it there. There should be enough information there to modify one of the vacuum lines that are being reproduced.- Top

Re: That'd be me
I was on a mission for the L-46 advance tube. Got some NCRS help. Had a real problem finding someone to make it. Bit disappointied in some of our better venders. Not much call for it, so not much interest to make it.
Didn't stop my efforts. I had an original someone was kind enough to send me to duplicate. I had a couple of proto types. The bends are right on the money, but this supplier only had single flare tube. In the process of having a piece made with double flare with the same computer bends...... The story continues- Top

Re: That'd be me
One time many years ago in a galaxy far, far away I found a similar tube on a late sixties to early 70's Nova or Chevelle. It needs to be bent to the proper proportions for a Corvette; however, it passed regional judging in Florida last January. My advise is to bend one and keep looking.- Top

Re: That'd be me
Just came back from the NCRS meet in Edison. I ran into Dick and also Stan (Whittington and Falenski)who've been quite helpful in this whole adventure. I brought the tube with me in hope of comparing with a L-46 there. Not to be. So, I asked Stan to take it to Boston with him for the meet there. He thinks there's going to be an L-46 or 2 there. Also got a connection from Dick for the double flare. Hopefully, I can get it all together very very soon.
I'll post here when I get to the finish line............
On a side note. I brought my donnybrook green plate with me. There happened to be a donnybrook 70 LT1 being judged.(was Stans previously). There was quite an interest comparing my plate to judging samples, and the LT1. My plate is still a bit my jade-like and the LT1 more forest-like. Seems there isn't a clear definative, exact, match/ formula. This LT1 wa one terrific lookig vette!!- Top

Steve
Think thats what everyone did at the time. I guess the problem with what I'm trying to do is you won't be able to get away with that anymore. As Stan said to me, NCRS is always learning and looking to improve, So I may be creating an instument for more hits in judging. Sorry about that.- Top

Re: That'd be me
Hello friends, I don't remember posting a picture of the tube. I have a similar one from other Chevrolet, but I could be wrong. I got some pictures from L-46 engines showing the famous tube. One is from Stan Falenski I think.
Please follow the link,
Best regards, Roberto, NCRS #30019, RMC
