You will note 2 things regarding this baffle:
1) The baffle is perforated in the "heat slot" area. This means the exhaust gases burned through over time. More important, it means that the carburetor throttle body was exposed to direct exhaust gas heat. You might want to check it for possible damage or warpage. Even without baffle perforation, the exhaust gas heat can damage throttle bodies and other carburetor parts. With perforation, the chances are much greater;
2) Note the "peninsula" of carbon which extends from the middle of the "heat slot" towards the middle of the primary bores. It looks like exhaust gases might have found their way into the fuel/air charge at this point. That could have affected idle stability and other performance issues.
