True story.................. Bill Davis Sports Cars in Hazard, KY. Someone had a little too much moonshine on a Saturday night in Hazard, got a little trigger happy and the 67 Corvette (very low miles at the time) suffered the consequences. Don't know if the shooter is still around or if he even knows how "infamous" he may be.
The car was in the showroom of a closed Chevy dealership along with a number of other old cars. There were five saloons across the street. Two guys got in to it and rolled out in the street with pistols blazing. One guy got shot twice and a stray bullet went through the plate glass window, through the fender and blew out the right front tire(red line).
Bill Davis had a large collection of very desirable cars that would make a lot of you guys slather all over yourself. He finally sold the collection off, opened a Ford dealership and I heard, went broke.
PS. That's Hatfield/McCoys territory. Duke boys were way south of there.
PSS. The next owner after Bill Davis was a guy in Texas, not counting Buxbaum as the dealer.
