Question for bolts for 71 bumper bracket, etc

I have a few questions regarding correct bolts for my 71 coupe.

What design, markings etc. should hold the rear outer (the long ones) bumper bracket to the frame? Mine had regular lock type washers on it and it appears that the bracket has some markings as if the larger serrated/self gripping type washers may have originally been on it. (which leads me to believe the that the bolts holding mine in may not be original).

Also, my muffler hangers had one bolt type on one side and another on the other side. Any help regarding the marking, length, style, etc. that I should be using? One side had a bolt with a taper at end of threads and a nut with a flange (not sure what the marking were - but can check) and the other side had a longer bolt which was not tapered at end of threads and a nut which did not contain a flange. I have no idea if one of these is correct or neither is correct.

The serration marks on the bracket and the inside of the frame rail are the dead giveaway that special washers for 1/2" bolts were used...PN 1362249, two each bolt.

On my late 70, these bolts are 1/2 NC X 1 1/2" long, black phosphate with an M with three radial lines, and use standard 1/2" NC hex nuts. Thess parts are shown on page UPC14, sheet B1 of the 70 AIM.

I have no information on the muffler hanger bolts...mine were probably replacements or trash.

Thanks, I should have some of those bolts. The only AIM that I have is for 68, but I see the page you are referring to now. (and can see that they do appear to have the serration drawn on the washers) I probably should buy one for 71

The serration marks that I noted were on the bracket (not the frame rail), but it appears those washers go on both sides, from the drawing in AIM

        Brad,
The hangers I took off my '71 in '71 used a 3/8"-16x7/8" hex head bolt. These are the bolts from the hanger to the frame. The head marking is 3 slashes at 12,4 and 8; with an S at 10 and a B at 2. There is a loose common flat washer at the head end and just a special nut at the end istalled through the frame. The nut is the type with rounded shoulders at 1 end and is self locking. I don't know the proper name for this kind of nut although it appears at various locations through-out the chassis and running gear. There are 2 indentations across the shoulders of the nut although you can't see them once the nut is installed. There was no second washer although the AIM shows a lock washer of some type.
This is about as crazy as it gets. My wife does prefer it to wild women or Jack D.
        Regards,
        Alan
