Where did you see that clem?
"The NCRS Technical Discussion Board is a closely monitored TECHNICAL only board. Members as well as non-members of NCRS are encouraged to post technical questions relating to their Corvettes. Please keep your questions and responses limited to TECHNICAL ISSUES related to the CORVETTE. Other posts will be deleted."
I just copied that from the board FAQ page.Terry- Top

Re: it is in the minutes of the NCRS board meeting
The NCRS Discussion Board will be open to Members Only starting in early 2008. The Board of Directors will also implement the following: Discussion Board behavior should meet minimum civility requirements and anyone exceeding those limits will have his/her access limited after due notice.- Top

I Believe I Understand...
Some of the reasoning for this action, but in your case, Clem, I'm afraid it will have exactly the opposite effect to the intended result. I believe the relevant phrase is "hoisted on our own petard".
You have been an exception to the unusal non-member profile...you have given NCRS much more in technical knowledge and personal experience over the years than you have taken away. You should just join up; most of those old guys you once raced with have probably lost interest. If you want to be close to the cars, then this is the best place. The Tech Board would be poorer for your absence, and we would regret not having you here to help us.
Well, what can we say then...if your wife won't let you have $35 for dues, maybe we'll just have to take up a collection for you...or, recommend the Board establish an "honorary corporate-sponsored Tech Board membership" for you.- Top

Re: I Believe I Understand...
I'll kick in...My wife doesn't even have to give permission (I'll just take it out of the meager allowance she gives me..). I am sure that the information and moral support that I have gotten has been invaluable. I guess I don't understand the reasoning, unless it is only the non-members that post are the perpetrators of the somewhat less than complimentary posts I have seen.
Clem..Hang in there...we should be able to do SOMETHING to let us keep picking your fertile brain! Joe/46448
(Unless you just don't want to be associated with the likes of us!)

Hoping for a solution.
Clem,
You sure have been helpful to me... I hope we don't lose your experienced input. I especially enjoy the old racing tricks and tips for example. Much of that stuff is not in books.
I hope there is some solution.Dave, 1969 427, 1957

Re: If you decide depart
Let me know your intended cyber settling point so I can keep in touch with you if you do indeed head out my friend.
I consider your input to this forum as a "non member" invaluable and the above phrasology both elitist and NOT in keeping with the best interest of the organization or the hobby.
How many "lurkers" other than Clem have pitched in to provide usefull information to the tech board? More than we could imagine I'd expect.
Pretty soon there will be nothing but coluums to input a querry and a canned list of answers will be returned to the sender. No discussion, no fellowship, no chance for expression, no tech board.
People need to get off the annal express and take a breath before they impliment crap (see I didn't say the "other" four letter word I really wanted to use) like this!
Keep the faith Brother Clem,
