Re: book on MPG
most of the ideas that were put forward in that book have been dispelled as hype or myths:
"Drive with the windows closed whenever you can. Open windows, especially at high speeds, create more wind turbulence and have the effect of holding back the car. It takes extra gas to overcome wind drag; in fact, at highway speeds, open windows can lower mileage by as much as 10 percent."
The TV show "Mythbusters" killed that one dead quite a while ago.
Kelly, if you're really that concerned about saving the planet, babies, whales, puppies etc., please park both your land yatch and your Corvette and buy something that truly gets real world good mileage without having to go through contortions. I think you'll sleep better too.- Top
