Craig, My 53-72 parts book says:

    3896904
    57-65
forged crankshaft w8 cyl (except sp H/perf, FI, 396)

fyi: 3817173 is for the 62-68 sp H/perf, FI 327

      Craig and Rich-----

GM #3896904 is the one. However, keep in mind that this is a SERVICE balancer for the application and is not configured as-original. However, it will SERVICE your application perfectly and it's not real expensive. If you want original configuration, then you need to go reproduction.

By the way, DO NOT use balancer GM #3896903 if someone tells you it's "the same thing". It does LOOK the same, but it's NOT the same.

Yes....I bought a 6904 many years ago for my 59, and it was not the same as my original.

I needed a new one because mine came off the crankshaft while I was driving on the highway about 20 years ago. I heard a loud "thud", looked in my rearview mirror and I saw this orange thing on the road starting to pass me on the left! After looking for a while, I found it in the median strip while waiting for the flatbed to arrive. I never knew these were just a press fit and not bolted to the crank.
