Can anyone identify the follow GM part numbers?
6270119, 1941119, 179358, 6264018, 3968665 and 3877345.
I have looked in my GM 1953 to 1972 parts catalog with no luck.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bruce B.
Well, you've got some strange ones here. Where did these numbers come from? Off of a part or off of a parts box or label? Anyway, here's the little I can find:
6270119----This was some sort of assembly used in PRODUCTION but never available in SERVICE. Its component parts were serviced, but I have no information as to what they were. I'd guess this piece dates from the early 70's;
1941119----no record, at all. Likely some sort of Delco part;
179358-----no record, at all. Likely some sort of fastener;
6264018----stabilizer link bushing also used for some shock absorbers. Applicable to 1953-82 Corvettes as well as a HUGE number of other GM cars and trucks;
3968665----no record, at all. This part was likely released about mid-to-late 1969;
3877345----no record, at all. This part was likely released about late 1965 or 1966.
Keep in mind, that if you find these numbers on actual parts, that does not necessarily mean that it is a finished part number. It could be a component of an assembly that was never available in SERVICE. It could be a casting number that is not the same as a finished part number. Also, they could be PRODUCTION-only part numbers which were never available in SERVICE. I can usually do pretty well with part numbers that were used both in PRODUCTION and available in SERVICE (most parts are both). However, for parts that were PRODUCTION-only, my informational resources are much more limited.
