                Joe ---- I remember that your '54 is a late car, therefore, if late '54 and many '55s had the metal dash pad substrate, I would use what you have. Take lots of photos. Also, you could check Noland's book for further information.

                    { Was removing the old vinyl material from my 54 dash pad and discovered the "frame" was made of steel, with foam rubber padding. I was under the impression that they were all made of fiberglass with no pad.}

                    First design were steel having rubber formed padding// also the "side door pads" were the same ,second design was glass using cotton pad under the vino cover . Early was easy to tell by the feel.
                    Just got back from Fl. by the way the dash pad 53 to 55 was a different size then 56 to 57

But for got my pass word on using my friends PC, don't think I missed much about any old 55 Corvette stuff.But they could have been used up in other 54 dated vetts.Over the years who knows NOW what parts were in all year 53 to 55's that have mixed parts installed by basket cases to day!!
                                Joe so what is your's steel or fiberglass all three pieces ?
