Wayne,Garth, the mounting of the horn relay and voltage regulator on my early (Dec 63) AC 64 Corvette corresponds with the 63 AIM, the 64 AIM was revised Dec 63 to reflect the fender well mounting vrs the rad support mounting. Garth, is your 64 an early car? The 64 AIM also shows non air cars with RH fender mount VR but that is not what is commonly seen, my Mar 64 still mounts the VR on the rad support. I think by 65 they finally changed it over. Many changes during 63/64/65! Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

My 64 with AC has the regulator mounted on the inner driver's side fender skirt, not the radiator support.

Mine is a late '64, April production;Thanks for all the info,looks like I'll be moving my regulator to the inner fender skirt.

Garth, you said there was no evidence of the regulator ever being mounted on the fender, why would you move it then? I believe you should document and restore a car as it was, not to match general information referring to locations etc. The AIM reflects a change to the fender well but who knows when it was fully implemented? AC cars are very special and rare and could have 'flip flopped' installation methods during the transitional phase. I know up to Dec. the VR was rad. support mounted and probably beyond to ?.

Hi John and Garth, you have brought up an interesting detail of 1964 AC cars: they had their voltage regulators mounted on the LH radiator support like the 63 AIM until at least April 64, then by June it had been moved to the LH fender well as per the 64 AIM instruction. The horn relay remained on the rad. support. Does anybody else have similar corresponding installations?
