An Easy Way To Reset Cookies

Not sure how many folks are aware of this, but there is an easier way to reset cookies. Just select "Set Preferences", enter name and password, and then hit the "Update Preferences" button. That way you can reset cookies without having to post anything.

Thanks Don, but where do I find that? I had this trouble about a month ago and someone talked me through it, but my archive search under postings by me, comes up empty??? now, I have to input my name, e-mail and password EVERY time I want to post, even after I "save password" I don't get it....

Jim when I had the problem on my and my wife's computer of not saving the password I went to the control panel, internet options, delete cookies. Once I deleted the cookies it would save the new cookie that allows you to save your name and password

          Jim,

The "Set Preferences" link is located with the series of links along with the "Post New Message" link.

That's what I was told before and it worked too! But now I have to do it again a month later and when I do, I loose ALL my other passwords that I have no problem with. Is it something about this board? Thanks again Dick!!!

FOund it, thanks... it must be the combination of my computer and this site, it's the only one that gives me trouble once a month...

Jim, I do not know what is causing the cookie problem, but I had it happen three times in the last month. Something is corrupting the cookie.

Before I go crazy, is it on the board's end or mine? I'm doing this one from work (i'll make up for the time at lunch) ad it is fine, no password issues... must be the home connection...

You can also compose a brief message and simply preview it to reset your cookies - that's how I usually do it.

Mike, the weird problem that some of have had will not respond to this method. You can post, tell it to save password, etc and the next time you log on have to do the same routine. The only way I have found to cure it is what I posted..

But then again better times are a comin'
