    Re: Rally Wheel Paint

    Mario:

PPG has a code for Argent Silver. That is what I used on a few sets of wheels. I had a quart of enamel mixed and asked the gentleman to add 4 or 5 drops of medium green tint to it. It was an excellent match. I might still have the empty in the garage, let me know if you need the code. It was about $20.00 US.

        Your local Corvette suppliers

can't get it for you? Have you spoken to somebody in the Ontario Chapter for references?

Thanks everyone -- I'll check with an automotive paint supplier and take it from there.

                Re: "Classic Industries"

Web site is www.classicindustries.com. Toll free is 1-800-854-1280. They are great people to deal with. Many of the Corvette vendors could learn a lot from them. They are in Huntington Beach, Ca.

                    Formula is in the book!!!!

A really nice reference book in the NCRS Merchandise Library is the "1968-1882 Corvette Restoration Guide". There's a chapter in there on wheels and it explains the in/out differences in ralley wheel paint over time. The book gives a step-by-step on how to go to your local auto paint supplier and have him custom blend the early version of Argent Silver for you, on the spot....

Hello Bryan, I would like to know the code. Probably it will be different in my country but anyway I would like to try it in my local PPG dealer.

Thanks in advance, Roberto, NCRS #30019, RMC
