My 66 hockey sticks need to be either rechromed or replaced. Any suggestions on whether replating is a good cost effective option or should I just buy new?

Rechroming is not inexpensive. However, if the parts are otherwise in good shape and you can find a high quality plater, I would always opt for rechroming. That way, you have original parts and, very likely, much higher quality chroming than you will otherwise obtain with new parts.In Appreciation of John Hinckley -

Mike in the Driveline you can usually find an add for a facility in TN I think it was Arebia. I have not had anything chromed in years but I had seen a post before where Arebia was recommended. I seem to remember seeing some of their work at a Knoxville Expo once and it looked really good.Comment

I had tried calling Areba a while back and never could get through. I seem to recall leaving messages that never got returned. Hopefully you'll have better luck.

I had mine done by Bison Plating in Adell, Wis. 920-994-4013. good service then in 1998. Think it was $25 each then.Comment
