    C3 Master Cylinder Markings

Are the front stampings(such as PG,DC,etc) readily visible like the casting numbers or do they quickly fade away in time.Would media blasting reode them away? This for 1970-72 years.(Castings 5480346 and 5455509)
I've yet to find these on very original pieces.

    Jim-----

The broadcast code stampings on C3 master cylinders are usually very lightly stamped. And, yes, bead blasting usually does contribute to their further unreadability. However, I have rarely seen one that, upon close inspection, didn't have at least some vestige of the original stamping visible.

SERVICE master cylinders sold during the 67-73 time period may or may not have had the broadcast code stamping, so it's POSSIBLE that some unstamped ones originated as SERVICE units. The broadcast code was primarily a PRODUCTION requirement.
