I had the ignition shielding off and still had the same problem. When I get my days off i'm going to try what everyone suggested and see what happens. Thanks again to all.

Well worth checking - I've seen the issue more than once over the years !!

Hi to everyone who replied to my original post.
After doing everything to my 62 Corvette that all of you suggested to solve my problem, I had no luck. When I put the battery cables back on & took it for a ride, the problem did not happen no more. My guess is that the battery connection was not as tight as I thought since 1962 Corvette as far as I know was the only year to use the Spring type battery clamps that go on the battery. I went out and bought new cables that use a bolt to tighten it. I drove it a few times and did not have the problem know more. I just thought that was weird for that to cause my problem. I hope it does not happen again. I guess we learn something new every day.I just wanted to let you all know and thank you for all your input.

        Thanks again ....John

          John -

All 1962-1968 Corvettes used the "spring-ring" battery cable terminals.
