All this talk about titles so I pulled out the one for my '65. Low and behold I'm the proud owner of a 65 Che CP NA. I'm never selling so if it's problem I'll let whoever I decide to aire it to worry about it. Less than two months short of owning 38 years. Damn I'm getting old.

In 1971 I bought my 67 coupe for 550.00. It had front end damage. I fixed all and my 2 children at the time rode in the back. I took the jack cover out and that's where they put their feet. When the 3rd was born, the wife held the baby in the front with her and the other 2 still fit in the back. At that point in life, a good friend gave us a dodge van to drive.
I bought a 63 coupe that was totaled because it jackknifed pulling a boat. I think I still have the trailer hitch that the production hitch company made to fit mid year vettes.

Grew up in Astoria more or less under the Triboro Bridge. Msgr McClancy high school('65), 1973-1.jpg1973-1.jpg arried a Bishop McDonnell girl in 1970. Good to "see" some other borough guys here. I hung out on Shore Blvd/Astoria Park, Memo's Speed Shop and connecting highway.

Did you own a 65 silver fuel coupe? I had a friend who was a couple of years older than me and he lived by the park. I had a 65 silver 300 hp silver coupe.

I car I owned was the one posted in the note which I think came through. It was 327 with a .536 lift cam, and a bunch of other stuff painted El Dorado firemist bronze and pin striped by Vic Kessler. There was a guy who had a 327 FI that hung out occasionally on Sat. at the park but I don't recall his name. We usually had about 7 or 8 vettes there on Sat. and Sun. We parked at the end across from "pill hill" though the reason for that monicker now escapes me. It was the mis '60s.

I read your profile after I posted reply. I hung out at A P from 76 to 83. I was the only vette in the group. 3 or 4 Tri 5's a few chevelles and GASP !! a 240 Z.

No worries Mike my old IN. titles are just like yours. The corvettes that I have sold with that looking title were not a problem for someone else getting a title in other states.

Paperwork -- time to revisit that '65 Maroon/maroon 396 coupe; totally restored from not much more than the paperwork (M.S.O. and 1st Florida title), and the firewall birdcage with VIN & trim tags. At least the title indicates Corvette. I'll bet the owner "Elizabeth H" was the driver's mother !

By '76 my hanging out days were long over and I was living in NJ. I have some really fond memories of those day and wish I had some pictures other than the ones in my mind. I can remember sitting with an Italian ice or cannoli from La Guili's on Ditmars Blvd. just idling away the day. I pasted by the park about a year ago on a Sat. in the summer but the cars were not exciting to say the least.

My brother's '67 coupe in a snowbank outside our home in North Dakota in about 1971(tried to rotate it but no luck...sorry). The car is still with him... now in the garage next door to me. I drove C1s and C2s in the winter as recently as the early 90s, but I had the best luck with C1s. Better clearance for deep snow!

Bill --- me neither. I'd love to know the whole story. Here's the pics from the last eBay offering. One good lookin' car, though.

YEP That's what I am talking about. I have bought many Corvettes out of state & the only thing that is checked by the police in IN. is that the VIN on the title matches the VIN # on the Corvette. I don't remember many titles that listed the car as a Corvette only Chevy & 2 door coupe or conv. I bought a 63 Ford 427/425 HP conv. last year out of state & titled it here in AZ. They didn't even look at the VIN on the car. I got a AZ title & plate. As far as getting stopped out here & in Texas all the want when your stopped is license & proof of Ins.
