Thank you Roy for shining some light on the subject. I knew if we got you to respond to this post some enlightening information would be presented. Knowing you, there would be no small chance of just letting something as big as this to just slide thru uncontested without any history/documents. It does sound like a lot of this car's original stuff is now replacement/restoration which must have made verification difficult.

Yea, we could also recall all of those bow-ties and top flights with borrowed parts. And, I guess we could go back and recall Roger Maris`s home run record too while we are at it.

Not the same thing and you know it. In 2002-2003 due to the Grenning/Sinor trim tag book, there was a major improvement to the forensics of judging. What you are talking about is cheating, and what I am talking about is a sea change.

As an example, when DNA testing became available, and cases were re-examined, many convicted criminals were found to be innocent.

That's all I will say about this issue.
