I did not misrepresent you. Where did I say that you said to use cheap, Chinese parts? However, I believe your implication was that one does not need to spend the kind of money that a Cloyes True Roller timing set costs to have an adequate timing set. I agreed with you, one does not have to spend that kind of money. Beyond that, one can also have an adequate timing set by buying a 10 buck Chinese timing set. You didn't say that; I said that. And, it's true.

By the way, I think you misrepresented me when you said "...it's easy to be free with someone else's money at 80 dollars more..." How am I being free with someone else's money? I'm only saying what I USE and what I RECOMMEND. I'm in no way "spending anyone else's money". That's THEIR decision.
Your opening statement on china parts is directed to me as the name at the the top line is mine. Quote:

Ultra-cheap, Chinese parts will be adequate and will likely last longer than anyone here is going to need them, especially at the kind of use that the vast majority of older Corvettes are going to see."

I never said anything about Chinese parts. You did. Your fabricated implication that I did and then say, and again your quote:

"I did not misrepresent you. Where did I say that you said to use cheap, Chinese parts?"

You best re read what you type before you post, because all indications say otherwise. You directed your post at me by using my name. You imply I condone chinese parts. Denial don't cut it.

My comments about Chinese parts were NOT directed at you. Period. If that's how you're interpreting it, you are way off base. If by "directed at you" you mean that I responded to one of your posts, that I did. However, in NO WAY was I saying that you suggested that using Chinese parts was OK or advisable. I was simply stating that if one didn't want to spend big money on parts, one could use the cheap Chinese parts and they would be adequate. I still think so. You don't have to think so. That's entirely up to you.
