    1954 fuel pump bubbling.

    After a good run yesterday I noticed my pump was bubbling and forcing a small amount of gas out the bowl. In my case after the pump was rebuilt it was delivering about 8 psi which overpowered the carbs. They're supposed to run under 5 psi. I was forced to put a 4 # regulator on it. Is this a common issue with these pumps? How does the pump relieve the pressure? Any thoughts?? Thanks.

      Another question for the fuel gurus, Can the pump maintain a 7 psi pressure between itself and the 4 psi regulator at rest? Seems like fuel is squeezing out the diaphragm gasket at rest or maybe as its running. the screws are tight. I don't know of a way to relieve the pressure is there? Thanks

          something is not correct - the pump should put out 4 psi

              Thanks Chris, Ill have to check the pressure again. Took 300 miles for it to show itself.
