Got to watch what you buy on ebay. Interesting that the spinners are 90 degrees off on these hub caps.

That is an inspiring photo of a '54 engine bay. What is the tag on the firewall? By the way, my 1954 has an oil filter. It consists of a relatively course mesh screen on the oil pump pickup. It is also a reusable one, which can be removed and cleaned. Ha!

I did check and clean it when I was inspecting the bottom end of the motor prior to starting ours for the first time in thirty years.

I forgot about that filter. All you have to do is remove about 24 screws and drop the pan,

The tag on the firewall is there because it was an export car to Germany. I've seen these on other cars as well.

I've seen tags like this on other cars as well. Like this one from a 1961 Corvette:

            Thanks Randy.

I have seen this on a 54 and 64 in Sydney. The flex rubber hose for frame to fuel. Right now i have a few connections from the parts hydraulic store feeding fuel leaking all over the floor.

Ill try to find it.. the ones sold on ebay does not fit at all.. So they kindly refund me.

              Two questions.
              1) Help me understand the chrome shielding some are blue..and I've seen a car with 8000 miles and it's black. Is that an upgrade from the dealership??. Noted that you stated your car is 3 cars ahead of mine is black. Original block head components radio radio straps on body...footman straps..
2)whats that data tag on your firewall?
              3) I notice you have a chrome valve cover. Again I've seen blue and chrome..optional or upgrade ?
              4) where did you get there fuel hose from?

              Thanks
53's - all the valve covers are blue - also they are different
54's - the car can have a blue valve cover or a chrome one - no rhyme or reason - the cover is a passenger car cover with tabs welded on for the ign shielding.
The ign shielding can be blue or chrome - again no rhyme or reason. Typically the inside of the shielding is black.
