Zora and Val McDonald at Big Sky meet, May 30 1977, Billings, Montana. First time I've ever seen him smile. She walked him through the slalom/autocross course, but he ended up missing a few gates driving Val & Doug's '72. .

I was at that indy nationals with a bunch of alcohol impaired guys. seem to recall a 63 coupe with a GMC 6 banger that was impressive. mike

We camped in a Lions park. The place was full of racers. There was no sleeping in.The guy next to us at home plate of the ball diamond had a Mopar that refused to idle cold. He was up trying get that thing going at dawn each morning. We were there in my best friends '55 Chevy hardtop. Painted it flat black with rattle cans just before we left for Indy. The '55 was powered by a '67 Z28 from record holder Pete Fedun's Camaro from Niagara Falls Canada.
