Re: POST OLD PICTURES of CORVETTES HERE - NOSTALGIA

The car was found and restored by NCRS Texas owner RICK BENNETT in 2010. He used a 65 front clip with 64 side valences installed when he restored it. He found the original engine from previous owners, and that it had only 3300 miles on it when originally pulled out after the accident. The ORIGINAL engine was completely rebuilt at restoration time. There is a 45 minute phone interview DVD with Thom Jamison who is now deceased. The owner has all the paperwork and Pikes Peak history and entry forms. Rick sold the car in 2013 as I remember. Neat piece of CORVETTE HISTORY.......RACING HISTORY.

Thats what I thought. Thread appeared around May 7, 2017. Picture was taken in front enterence of Oakland Hills Country Club, Bloomfield Hills, MI. A lot of GM executives are members. I currently have a home on 4th green and have had a long relationship with the club.

And what an incredible car it is. Enjoyed seeing it in person in Altoona. ARA. Owner must have changed the bypass clamps on his way home....and had a can of orange spray paint in his car with him....

Mark is that the same car that you had at Indy 2+ years ago when we were checking the Battery Gauge? I wish I took more photos of it.

Yes interesting..... Tower clamp. Just goes to show if they ran out of something..... just make it work.

I also like the tinted fittings (Redish-Orange & Blue) on the Master Cylinder outlets.

Interesting that it had N40 too.(Alternator clocking telltale)

Jim, It's a L89. You must've missed it in Mark's post before the engine photo.

That had to be the most attractive engine offered in 1967 with the aluminum hi-rise intake and chrome valve covers.
