The excise tax was changed as of January 1, 1966, and that change is reflected on the invoice as "BASED ON REDUCED EXCISE TAX RATE EFFECTIVE JAN. 1, 1966". With that being noted one may assume that all was up to date and the sticker was on the car when arriving at the dealer? I placed a call to the Bloomington Gold judging office requesting contact info for the 66 Division Director. The office is closed on Monday so maybe tomorrow will produce some info. Terry, thanks for the advice and will post here what he or she says.

If you don't get the 1966 DD by Wednesday, PM me and I will work at getting you Contact info. It will take me several days, so your most expedient direction is the BG office.

This morning I received a call from the DD about the window sticker location and method of adherence. We talked briefly and the advice was to use rubber cement to stick the paper to the glass and it is removable when one wants to take it off. No mention of brownish or tinted glue was mentioned, and I mentioned to him that the "sticker" would be a copy of a reproduced invoice. (The reproduced invoice was created by "Vinvoices" and seems to be a good representation.) He suggested the middle of the window (drivers side) and about two inches down from the top of the window. Thanks to all who commented or advised, hope to see you in Indy in June!

John, I had my 66 at bloomington three years ago, (the car is one week newer than yours) and did not put the window sticker on the window. Nor do any of the other 66's I took pictures of while there.
