    All------

One other thing: these external transistorized voltage regulators, both the 1116368 and 1116378, were field serviceable. The transistors were available under GM #1960632 and, later, GM#10495956. They are long-since GM-discontinued, though.

I repaired many of the 9000598 regulators that shared most, if not all, of the same components. It shared the same case as the TI amplifier boxes. Bought all the needed parts at the local radio repair shop

Here's my collection of Transistorized Volt regs. I had another (1116368 dated 4H) a few years ago that went with my '65 air L76 tanker. Most of these have some mounting hardware and installation instructions. The two 116368's are stamped 4K and 6A. The 1116378's are 1B (instruction sheets 5-11-70) and 116378B stamped 7J; a 1116374 date dated 5C; Two regs without integral relay (hence slightly smaller, are used on Pontiac or other. The NOS unit is dated 5D, and the used one (lower right, with the broken ear) is L3. Was supposed to be off a '64 Bonneville, and the L3 would be
        December '63 ??

The 9000590 (upper left) stamped 7A is non-Corvette, with a plug identical to that used on the C2 C3 TI amplifiers. Instructions dated 6-10-69.

Best of my recollection, all the internal parts are the same. I have rebuilt both years ago

Here's a shot from an August 1965 CAR LIFE review of an L78. Note the transistorized volt reg in front of the alternator. Car & Driver also ran a review, and used the same photo. Probably a one-off, situation, and maybe an early 396, as eagle-eye Jack Humphrey pointed out the straight neck radiator outlet.
