You can not use the standard Holley 2300 base gaskets for our Tri-Power applications. Using a standard gasket or installing a gasket upside down will indeed result in a vacuum leak. These photos will clearly show the problem with the PCV port. Good news is that the 3 gaskets set should be available from virtually all the Corvette online suppliers.

Re: 68 L71 Center Carb Base Gasket
Thanks Mike.
We we do have the correct shape gasket to cover that port. It may be the carb is slightly warped and needs a more compressible gasket.
The trouble is all the suppliers offer the same Felpro gaskets which are not acceptable.

Have you thought about doubling down on the gaskets to give you more compression? Just a thought.Leif

Holley have all kinds black main body and bowel gaskets they come in a pack of 4 the kits does come with blue one but if your NCRS judging the car just order a pack of 4 Black gaskets you would need 3 anyways everything else in the kit is all factory stock- Top

Re: 68 L71 Center Carb Base Gasket
The top gaskets are from the Doc, and the bottom ones are over the counter GM gaskets I bought many years ago. The Docs match the GM is size and shape and have the same smooth, slippery feeling as the GM ones. They are a bit thicker than GM's- 0.031" cs 0.058" and are a lighter colored material.- Top

Re: 68 L71 Center Carb Base Gasket
Rich, there’s got to be something wrong with those mating surfaces. I’ve used and reused those thin ones without any problems with vacuum leaks. It must be the carb base or the manifold itself. I would say that you should confirm that first. Good luck; aren’t tripower fun?
Yes, they are.
I can only offer sage advice, which I am sure you will not welcome: “The only thing worse than one Holley is three Holleys"
Verifying the root cause of your issue is a good path to take. Best of luck to you.Terry- Top
