Good info for those attempting this. Horrendous traffic, overcrowding, no parking, and staying 30+ miles away are the major reasons I have decided to skip it every year. It just keeps getting worse it seems.

Me too. I pretty much gave up this event for all of these reasons and more. The potential for horrendous weather is yet another.

A 2000 mile trip pulling a trailer among those things mentioned above prevent me from attending. Miss all the people but for a vendor there are a lot less sales and more expense than ever before. People driving C-5's, C-6 and C-7 don't need many parts for C-1's and C-2's. They want dinner and a comfortable place to stay along with a hat, a mat, and a T-shirt! And of course entertainment!

          To paraphrase Yogi:

" Nobody goes there anymore. It's too crowded"

Yearly summer vacation stop for us. My son's car in Corvette Flag (4th time). Every year different route out - two years ago through Canada (Sarnia to Niagara Falls). This year NCM Bowling Green and Gettysburg. Of course, Kansas is a lot closer than many of you folks.

I am heading from NY route 84. It is a shame what PA has done to the show making a guy who is just trying to get rid of parts leftover from a restoration have a tax id number. it used to take me a full 12 hours to walk through the place now it takes 4. But I am a sucker and keep going any way. the best was when they stopped allowing pickup trucks to park inside. I never saw anyone in a corvette load it up with springs seats or tires!

Mark no vendor pass just cash. I guess they stopped real customer parking in the mid 90's. Been going since 82

There was a major wreck on Rte 81 with a tractor trailer. Was all over the Harrisburg TV channels this morning. The pipeline is going under 81 and hasn't been a factor in delays. I'm writing this as I sit in Shippensburg with KC Strawmyre and got the full scoop from him.

Thanks for the heads up Ed. My son was there a few weeks ago for the truck show.

Seems like there is always road work into PA? I stopped going to Carlisle after the 2016 show, not going this year either. While I miss holding the seminars there, I won't miss the 6 hour drive, getting to the park at 6:30 am to be at my spot, the weather hassles, leaving the park at 7:00pm exhausted, or the long ride home. I still hold a PA tax# and file with them 2x year even with -0- sales.

I will miss meeting fellow corvetters from all over, going into town at night, the parts.
