Last week I found that my Memory 6-Way power seat was inoperative. Since this system is controlled by a computer, I was forced to read one of the 4, 1000 page service manuals. I defy anyone, but an automotive computer expert to make since of the method one would use to solve this problem. My local Chey dealer advised that I had a problem, that cost me $150.00 for their diagnosis. Their only remedy they had was for me to purchase the entire C-6 Seat Module to the tune of $1,100 for parts and $400.00 labor to replace. I took the car to a friend of mine who has been an independent for 30 years. His diagnosis revealed the small magic box that controls all of the six ways, had a short inside. The bottom line, he found a new magic box thru a Chevy dealer in Texas for $200.00, his charge for the diagnosis and installation was $80.00. The point of this diatribe is Chevy Dealers in my area are lazy and take the expensive way to spank Corvette owners. "BE AWARE WILL ROBINSON, VERY AWARE".

Re: C-6 Info Only
Mike, by the time this car is judged all will be forgotten, and going on 82 I don't really care, I love driving a Silver Convt, 6-Spd w/400 LS-2-HP, It keeps me young. I dare anyone to remove the seats and find this little beauty. It only bares the part number and no date code. I think it could be a X-Flag by 2025, oh, and I will be 88, God willing and the creek don't rise.- Top

Re: C-6 Info Only
Patrick, I found this car, that was built in July 06 (a non-ca. car) with 20K miles and now 13 years old. Since I plan (Man plans and God laughs) on keeping this as my last vette, I will open doors, hood, trunk and any other parts that may come loose or rattle, with the greatest of caution. I don't move to fast, but I am fun to watch. I figure my end of watch date is pushed back an hour at a time, for every hour I have my bottom in the seat of this or any other Corvette. There is nothing better that shifting a 6-Sp, at 6,000 RPM, and doing 100MPH in seconds. Unlike a Prius that can brag 600 miles per gallon and 0 to 60, - SOON!!!- Top

I'm gentle with my glove box door, but that doesn't mean it hasn't broken twice and the support now cracked.
I purchased a used door to play with to think if a fix - and it has the same crack in the support! So, obviously mine was not an outlier.

Re: C-6 Info Only
Joe, I was not around when the part arrived and installed, I was basking in the waters off of Maui. I talked to the fellow who installed
the unit, he told me, part number and no visible date code, I did not make a note of the number. When I got back to the ranch and tested the seat it worked like a charm. All is well. I don't think I will take the seat out to check the number.- Top

I figured the part number would have been shown on the mechanic's invoice. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: C-6 Info Only
Joe, after your request for info on the part that was replaced, I went to the shop this AM and found the box the part came in.
The part # was, as you indicated, #22897125, the part it replaced was #15296303. I wonder if the replacement part was for
another year. It works well and I can now pass an Ops test in 2-3 years from now. What is the latter part number come back to.- Top

Yes, GM #15296303 was the original part number for the seat module. It was superseded by GM #22897125. If I had a choice of these two, I'd go with the 22897125. Most likely, it improved on the former part. If so, you may have unwittingly "discovered" the need for the improvement. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
