Assuming that's his former car, I bet he bought it like that and either didn't know about the trim tag or didn't care. After all, a different trim tag wouldn't make the car more comfortable or faster. Since I buy my cars to drive and enjoy and not to re-sell, the tag wouldn't bother me.- Top

Jim, I whole heartly agree with you, drive them. But when it come to buying a car, listen to it's story. These cars are now 50 plus years OLD,
in "The Day" they were driven and believe me the racier cars were driven hard and often put away wet. Yeah, there undoubtedly were several 67 435's put in storage like fine wine, BUT for every one of those there were 100 that were wrapped around trees. 435 HP and skinny nylon tires try that for fun on a rainy night. Like I said, isn't it funny MR CORVETTE drove a 300HP automatic ever !
I hear he was fond of "trade outs" I'll bet if we listen this car will tell a good story Talking to Gessner today, Jim, you out there ???

Re: Dick Guldstrand's 67 Coupe on EBAY real or not?
I am thinking you all may be on the right track, racers were well known for dipping in to the parts bin and making a "car", mostly junk from strips, wrecks, salvage FRANKENSTEIN And this may be the case with this car, but ol Goldie could put one together better than St Louis. To us NCRS types the "value" sure isn't $75k (I think) but lets see what the story is
Time will tell, I think Gessner will know the story
Stay tuned . . .

I know the car well. YES......IT IS ''HIS CAR''. We all teased Dick about a 300hp with PG, WHY ??? He would answer, because I am old and like to just cruise.

Re: Dick Guldstrand's 67 Coupe on EBAY real or not?
Wrap up, Run Forest run ! It appears the car really was Dick Guldstrands, and for a 67 Coupe that is a pretty big plus.
The trim tag is BAD a 63 brown car it is NOT. The "originality" shall we say of the vin tag has been questioned--- that should be left to the guys that REALLY know their stuff. Apparently like so many early Vettes at one time this was no more than a $1,000 used car so who knows what is really in this car. I was a racer engines, transmissions, rears etc etc got exchanged a LOT. And they got stolen, recovered, rebuild, wrecked A LOT. Now, if anybody could put one together better than the factory, I would bet on Mr Corvette so this may just be the best driving 67 in existence but who knows.- Top
