For another data point my late October '66 (after the strike) survivor type car has no date at all on the collar. It seems this and some other parts including jacks had date codes that started with the beginning of the 67 calendar year. Was there a rule that changed or just a coincidence ?

My January 23rd (F23) built coupe is dated 04 7

MY Jan 67 build has a dated collar 361 6.

My April 17th car with telescopic is stamped 095 7.

My 67 Vette (standard steering column) with a build date of Nov. 22, 1966 has no date code on the steering wheel collar. It also has a 1966 power brake booster. I believe that both are original.

Welcome to the TDB...and, Happy Holidays. You are replying to a thread that is 3 1/2 years old. If you read post #5, you will see why your column does not have a Julian date code.

Thanks for the quick response. I did realize that the thread was 3.5 years old. I did not want to start another one since the topic seemed to be somewhat covered. I do read old threads. They are a great source of information for a beginner like me. So, I added my 2 cents worth to an old thread. Also, I did read post number 5 before I posted. I had looked at the 7th edition of the 1967 Judging Guide and there is no "option" for a non-dated collar. Based on that guide, my collar would not be OEM. Since the 7th edition, supersedes the earlier ones, I felt I had to ignore the "non-dated" option that was mentioned in an earlier version. Thanks for your help on this. I will need your guidance in the future. There is much foe me to learn.

CONV - #18301 has column dated 123 7, build date 5/11/67
