Hi Jim, How many original 65 FI cars do you have documented now. I know you are in the 600 range. Great job Jim.
I don't suppose you can call this one a barn find though.

That looks like it could be a great project.
On the other hand it would require some deep pockets.

the registry shows yours as 11774, Red/Red, drums, all docs, out of Tulsa OK, owned in 1982 by Frank Thomson, a real character from San Diego. The last entry on it was 2004 by Gary Seymour. I bet the current owner would like to know about you.

About 35 years ago we restored a '63 roadster that had been stored in a concrete floored, but very damp basement. It was unbelieveable how must rust was on the undercarriage.

Given the recent prices of 65 FI Corvettes at auction, one would think that they're dreaming if they think they can get anywhere near the asking price.

50 K plus restoration costs A VERY BIG NUMBER and VERY UPSIDE DOWN

Better off to go to an auction and buy one finished

In most all cases this is true. If you already own a car that you like, restoration may be worth the cost, even though you may never recover the expence.

The ‘65 L84 cars are the last of the breed, and the only fuelies to have disc brakes. 771 unique cars. It’ll be interesting when Jim’s list hits 772, not that anyone would fake one...

Though, if Patrick is correct about fuelie values, people may soon be putting four barrels back on some of them...

If the frame looks that bad, one would have to wonder what the windshield frame, etc. looks like.
