Re: Pilkington Classic Glass
Tom, thank you for posting. Can you verify the logo on your window matches the original LOF format? See attached picture for reference for a 1963 (after VIN 4000) and 1964 tinted window.
Called Summit and they had little information on the old LOF logos but are a Pilkington distributor. Summit indicated their product specialist would need to call Pilkington to verify the LOF logo formats for tinted and untinted and provide more information on the additional cost to date code.
Your information would be helpful as a reference.
Thank you
-Troy

Re: Pilkington Classic Glass
Troy,
when I called Summit we were in the middle of the shutdown and the sales rep knew nothing about the logo or dating the glass and indicated a long wait of 6-8 weeks Before I could get a dated windshield. As I am not judging the car I ordered the cheaper windshield without the logo. As they are a Pilkington dealer I would think that if you ordered a date coded window it would come directly from Pilkington and have the latest changes. Fitment was perfect, glass went in with no issues. On a side note, I have a photo of my car in 1970 from the original owner and the shade band across the top looks identical to the one I purchased and installed.

Re: Pilkington Classic Glass
Stu, I agree the tint band appears correct. Back in 2016 I brought a clear windshield and all went well at the nationals. The logo was like the original.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

Re: Pilkington Classic Glass
FWIW, here is a photo of my cars original glass in 1970. Looks very close or definitely close enough for me.
