I tried to take the photo as level as possible (taken from the RH side) but I think you can clearly see that the left hand pipe sits a bit lower as it approaches the cross member. Neither of my pipes are flattened but perhaps with the weight and suspension travel of a BB, it might make sense as to why your LH pipe is flattened.

i would certainly call CC to verify but this might give you some insight if they say it is correct, good luck !!

Thank you Owen and John! Very helpful. This builds a theory why CC crushed the left pipe but not the right.

The CC exhaust expert is supposed to call soon; I'll share what I learn.

        Mark,

For what it's worth, attached are photos of my original 72 LT1 exhaust. Both sides are crushed flat and crimped.

I (finally) installed the CC exhaust system this weekend. I'm happy to report it went together great without any issues or modifications: Tips are centered, pipes go through the cross-member holes without touching, and there's good clearance with the floor.

After the old exhaust was removed, installation took two hours at a leisurely pace.

          A true bolt-on experience.

I think the 2 1/2” CC system on my L82 sounds perfect. Sounds great at idle, not annoyingly loud on the highway and I can always drown out the radio if I put my foot in it.
I'll let you know when the car is put back together.

Should the angle/position of the left muffler mirror that of the right?

I just noticed the right muffler is more steeply angled and drops down more than the left muffler. The pipes are aligned the same side to side; each pipe also has the same clearance with the rear carrier. And each exhaust tip is centered in its valence opening.

If you paint those mufflers black like original, you'll never notice any difference in angle. It's subtle in your photo, and I'm not sure I would mess with it.

Without and adjustment (because of the welds) I would call this a keeper.
Way better luck than I had with my internet exhaust.
                          Enjoy.

QuickJack. It worked well during chassis restoration and exhaust installation. Great for wheel well detailing and brakes too.

Is this level of alignment within TFP?

It's not drastically different than my 2008's exhaust, that's for sure.
And, as hard as I have to look to see it I'd never notice it judging, especially if blackened.
