Besides Delco-Remy Made in USA is there a number stamped on the end of the capacitor?

A new replacement capacitor may not have the #1960960 stamped on the end. I would try to find a good used original.

Being this old, they are really only good for looks.

Thanks Stewart. That was what I was thinking of doing. My plan is to strip a small amount of insulation from the wire. It appears there is some remnant of wire down inside of the capacitor. My plan is to clean that out with a small drill to create a good opening for the solder and the wire. Did you do something similar? I assume you have to work quickly after the solder goes into the hole. Any tips?

Why worry about repairing one when a couple are available to you?

Any one of these will work on any C-2 with a radio.
