Re: Corvette Tie Down Location
Front - Axle straps around the lower A Arms.
Rear - Use T hooks into the tie down points on the frame cross member near where the seatbelt cables bolt in. Cross your straps in the back as well.
Best,

Re: Corvette Tie Down Location
They make nylon bands that goes over each tire, like half a tire chain.
If you tie it down that way the suspension can still work.
It makes a amazing difference how it pulls as the movement is absorbed instead of transferred to the tow vehicle.
Bad news is it requires four more tie down locations.
Otherwise I use David's method.

Re: Corvette Tie Down Location
I tie my C2 down using the holes in the frame in the rear with "claw hook" straps. In front, I wrap a short strap around the lower "A" frame. I also cross the straps to the trailer floor mounts for added stability. The car suspension is still active.- Top

Re: Corvette Tie Down Location
I have used the tie down points on the frame, both front and rear. Chevrolet put them there for a reason and that is good enough for me.
Rear C2 & C3 are at the same location = by the outer seat belt anchor points as stated above.
Front on C2 is at the front frame horns near the bumper mounts on the bottom of the frame channel. C3 front is on the bottom of the front cross member near the outer frame channel.
R-hooks work fine for either. J-hooks will also work, but are a little less secure than the R-hooks. Cross both front and rear straps, and use 20,000 or 30,000 pound rated straps. I prefer the greater capacity. Bigger IS sometimes better. Replace the straps when they become worn. The don't last forever.
Edit add: I use an R-hook. I used the wrong term originally. Correction made after seeing Dan's pictures.Terry- Top

Re: Corvette Tie Down Location
I think most haulers have gone to tire straps & was told the some states require them on interstates. Been trailering for over 30 years the old way but believe the newer tire straps are the way to go.65 350 TI CONV 67 J56 435 CONV,67,390/AIR CONV,70 454/air CONV,

Re: Corvette Tie Down Location
I installed e-track in my trailer and have the tire straps so the car will ride on its own suspension while being towed. I feel that this is the most secure method to prevent the car from hopping around inside the trailer and causing damage. It's an easy method to secure the car as well. Just ratchet down the four tire straps to the e-track. I also have tire stops which fit into the e-track so I know exactly where to position the car forward and aft for optimum trailer tongue weight.Keith MacRae

R-hook-GM-.jpg
This is the GM R hook.
Front Tie Down Location.jpg
This is the GM R hook in the front frame horn location, just behind the rad support. Photo possibly of a C3.
Rear Tie Down Location.jpg
This is the rear tie down location in the #3 crossmember using a T hook which may be Ford but will work.
tie_down_hooks.jpg
This is a GM R hook locked into the #3 crossmember location. The other two type hooks, T & J hanging are part of a set often sold at swap meets often by Tie Down vendors. Separate hooks can be purchased from tow truck equipment sellers found on the internet.
I have never been able to find out where or if GM had designated tie down locations in the CI frame. Anyone know?- Top
