Correct "rake" for a 1967 Corvette Coupe BB Standard Suspension w/o Air Conditioning?

Can you experienced Corvetters please point me in the correct direction to learn the correct "rake" or ride height for a 1967 Corvette Coupe BB Standard Suspension w/o Air Conditioning?

I am trying to find measurement references in all of my manuals but am not finding any that make sense to me. Perhaps I just need a lesson on how to interpret the graphs in the AIM (on pages G65 and G67).

For example, I am looking for the measurement for my car at an easily recognizable point such as the height from the ground (through the center of the axle) up to the belt line of the car. Front and rear. I see the graphs on pages G65 and G67 in the AIM but am obviously not smart enough to figure out how to read them and extrapolate from them the information I'm looking for.

I am also being told told by at least one other experienced Corvetter that the measurements I seek simply do not exist in published form. He is probably right, but I thought it would be worth asking the forum... I'd like to be able to measure from the ground up to a specific point of reference on my car's body and compare my car's measurement(s) with the "born-with" measurements. I want to make sure that my suspension restoration is going as it should be. I have every intent to have the car judged when finished.

Could you guys help me? Thanks.

    Brian

Added tire information: the tires currently on the car are Firestone Deluxe Champion, 7.75-15 with a DOT stamp of CYN4F5F54906.

More pertinent information: we've restored the front suspension and will soon also be restoring the rear suspension. The yellow microfiber towels are where I recently used the axle straps to secure the car (in my trailer) during transit.

Here are the pages from the AIM that I am referring to in my post above. Will these pages help me to see if the body of my car is sitting properly at the correct heights?

A word of caution about looking at the stance: make sure that if it's been on a lift or jacked up in any way you drive the car for a mile or two to settle the suspension to its drive attitude.

That said, I think the rear could be a touch high in the first photo of the car facing left. The car facing right looks less high in the rear and just fine to me. I am looking at the white wall compared to the fender lip. The front stripe to lip in both images looks very much like mine. I have the modern radial tire size equivalent to the stock 27" diameter bias ply tires.

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to interpret the data from post #3 (above) to get real world measurements that one can obtain on a car?

It’s not clear if the specs that Ray posted are for all ‘67s, regardless of options, but I don’t think that is correct. In any case, what’s interesting is that those specs show the front and rear of the rocker panel to both be 8.0” off the griubd. Which means the rocker panel should be parallel to the ground. The rocker panels on Brian’s car are higher off the ground at the rear.

That's the Brian's car, not mine.

                    Brian,
Refer to pages UPC 3A6 and UPC 4B5 in your AIM for front and rear trim heights. Dimensions "Z" (front) and "D" (rear) will determine the factory specified trim height with the various option effects.
These dimensions eliminate any discrepancies due to tire size etc. as they are measured from 2 points in the suspension and subtracted for the final result.
                    Examples: dimension "Z" = 2.25 - .08 (L-36) = 2.17" and dimension "D" = 3.78 - .09 (L-36)= 3.69"
I have a L36 car that had a "rake" and the above dimensions were "off". I installed some spring spacers in the front to raise the car slightly to be close to factory specs. I did this about 3 yrs after a restoration as the front springs had "compressed".

                      Hi Brian,

The AIM sheets below are the ones Stephen is referring to...

The AIM sheets you posted are for checking that the body was built to spec (prior to chassis marriage).
Those dimensions will not provide info you can use for adjusting the rake (or stance) of your car.

                      thx,
                      Mark

Thanks guys. I just spent quite a bit of time obtaining these measurements shown in/on these 2 AIM pages. Now I know why there wasn't a clear cut easy peasy answer to my naive question.

What were your "Z" & "D" measurements? Is your car ride height in spec?
