Can you experienced Corvetters please point me in the correct direction to learn the correct "rake" or ride height for a 1967 Corvette Coupe BB Standard Suspension w/o Air Conditioning?
I am trying to find measurement references in all of my manuals but am not finding any that make sense to me. Perhaps I just need a lesson on how to interpret the graphs in the AIM (on pages G65 and G67).
For example, I am looking for the measurement for my car at an easily recognizable point such as the height from the ground (through the center of the axle) up to the belt line of the car. Front and rear. I see the graphs on pages G65 and G67 in the AIM but am obviously not smart enough to figure out how to read them and extrapolate from them the information I'm looking for.
I am also being told told by at least one other experienced Corvetter that the measurements I seek simply do not exist in published form. He is probably right, but I thought it would be worth asking the forum... I'd like to be able to measure from the ground up to a specific point of reference on my car's body and compare my car's measurement(s) with the "born-with" measurements. I want to make sure that my suspension restoration is going as it should be. I have every intent to have the car judged when finished.
Could you guys help me? Thanks.
Brian
Added tire information: the tires currently on the car are Firestone Deluxe Champion, 7.75-15 with a DOT stamp of CYN4F5F54906.
More pertinent information: we've restored the front suspension and will soon also be restoring the rear suspension. The yellow microfiber towels are where I recently used the axle straps to secure the car (in my trailer) during transit.
