As mentioned, it is a mystery why 64 had the nutplate holes still there, since it appears to be a redesigned inner skin.

Joe, thanks for jumping in on this. I think many of us have learned something new.

Please explain to me the differences between the 63 and 64 hoods. I've studied them and they look the same to me.

One hood is the hood you posted in the above reply which is a 63 hood.
One is a photo of my 63 hood. Both 63 hoods are the same.
The third is a 64 hood from an early 64 with the nut plate holes filled. No holes for the nut on the cookie sheet.

I honestly can't see any differences between the 63 and 64 inner frames.except for the 3/8" cookie sheet depressions on the 63 hoods and the holes made for the cookie sheet studs on both 63 hoods.
                      Joe/Rich,
I went back over the photos again and I notice that the 63 hood Joe posted (the high HP car) is different than the 63 hood on my car. My car has hood wedge nut plates and it seems that the other hood does not have them meaning it may be the first design 1963 hood. My hood does not have the semi circular cut out at the lower end of the cookie sheet. Do you have an explanation for this.??
