      William,
Maybe you can answer this. I always wondered why one would want the A6 to cycle?

        Re: Ac problems

Can the screen be removed from the original expansion valve be used in a repop one? Or is there a source for the screen? If I want to make sure there's no contaminants, debris in my R12 system before I install any new parts that may be necessary how to flush the system?
        thanks

I do not believe the original screen from Frigidaire TXV will fit reproduction TXV. Most (or all) reproductions do not come with a screen. The original screen can be removed and cleaned and re-installed in the original TXV. But if you break it, they are available with some searching.

Most auto parts stores sell a refrigeration flush kit for the cars. Just keep it away from paint.

Original TXV and reproduction TXV can and should be checked before installing. There are two methods: one easy and more difficult......although the more difficult one is very very thorough/comprehensive.

Make certain you install a new receiver/drier. I recommend a cheap NAPA one to start.....for leak testing etc..........with an original rebuilt one for the final refrigerant charging.

            Re: Ac problems

Solid question William. Im not familiar with C2 HVAC architecture. Id recommend sourcing the drawings in the AIM and the service manual or even YouTube for some good visuals.

As for the blend door most have a seal which deteriorates. There's usually an adjustment that coincides with the position of the control lever.

The info I provided is generic automotive HVAC troubleshooting. I once overcharged a system before checking the simple stuff. Turns out the blend door wasn't completely sealing off the heat side.
