Thanks for posting. That photo did leave me with a burning question on outside driver's mirror orientation ... For years, we have seen Chevy promotional pics with the mirror oriented "up" (rotation point below the center of the mirror), but in this pic (assuming Zora driving this apparent 1970 model) the mirror is oriented "down". I would assume this pic is showing "proper" orientation for best performance? (that is, minimal mirror movement when driving at higher velocities)

Small point but I believe this is a 1969 model. Note the headrest seats not used after 1969.

That young buck is Ralph Spears and that photo was taken at the 1985 National Convention in Boston Mass. I believe Ralph was 1968-69 Team Leader at that event. It was the first judging of C3s. That is probably Ralph's 1969 they are leaning against. It was a L71/M40.

I think I may have read Ralph write somewhere that he spun that car into a ditch, and ripped the front or back end off it? Just a little too much juice for a young buck.

That was another 1969 that Ralph had new. I think this was a used purchase, I think. This one probably could have received some stars if not Bow Tie if he had gone through the trouble. This green one is sold, and last I talked to Ralph he was without Corvette.
I should probably let him speak for himself. J see from his membership number that he got his old number back. It is good to see him back on the membership roles and on this board. He has a lot of knowledge to share about these early C3s.Yes those were the good old days. So much was different.

OK Ralph, speak up and share some of your wisdom.. I know you worked at Luby's Boston Chev Store, where my (former) 65 L76 originated.
