A couple of judging questions for 70/72

First question relates to door weatherstrip, does the slit @ the bottom have molded shut ends? I was thinking of cutting with a razor, but do not want to cut if this is not correct, was there a big gap? Second question is door sill screw heads, does anyone know of a vendor that makes the correct small head black crews? Thanks for your help.

    1. Slice away, that's how the factory did it. The weatherstrip was delivered as one piece, and the installers sliced it into two on the line to make it easier to install. As a result the gap was irregular and not necessarily straight. I have also seen a factory original car where the slice did not quite go all the way through.

    2. No, not offhand.

I bought new sill plates from Corvette America that came with new screws which appear correct to me. I have not had my car judged yet. They sell the screws without the sill plates:

Shop C3 1968-1977 Chevrolet Corvette Sill Plate Screw Set. 8 Piece - CA at Top Flight Automotive. From restoration to performance we offer the highest quality parts & accessories for your project.

        Good luck,

            Ed,
Wurth show a black oval head Phillips screw #8 with a #6 head, 3/4" long or 1" long.
I am not familiar with what they should be so this is just a guess.
            Kind regards

I should let everyone know Reba Whittington sent me a message, screw size was 10 with a #8 head. I googled and found a box.
