information on this car

A friend of mine is looking at this car. He says that several NCRS people have looked at it and tell him it is a really good car. Is this car familiar to any of you guys? Supposed to be white/blue interior but has black dash, carpets and seat backs. Someone told him that it was a rare "salt and pepper" edition! My friend is flying down Thursday to look at it. If I need to post this somewhere else please let me know. Thank you. John

I find it odd that anyone would order side pipes with A/C despite L-79. In addition to, IMO, side pipes being obnoxiously loud, they are, dyno proven, more restrictive than the under-the-car exhaust system, both base and N-11.

John Hinckley always said that they were "marketing driven", not "engineering driven".

Obnoxious to one is music to another...my factory side pipes were not "loud" at all, just a very nice mellow tone. Southern cars ordered with factory A/C were ordered with side pipes (in many cases) to keep the exhaust heat from under the car thus out of the cabin.
Note the tank sticker from my '67 L79...sweetest car I ever owned.

Code 450 is blue/white. Blue/black was not available in 1966. Sidepipes were not put on cars built at the AO Smith plant.

Sorry guys, I should’ve been more specific. Obviously side pipes are added. Obviously the interior is wrong! The car is in Florida and the gentleman who owns it claims that it is very well known by NCIS members down there. I think he’s pulling our leg! So I was trying to see if somebody knew anything personally about the car. I threw in the engine pad stamp because I’m not an expert, but it does look good to me. The trim tag appears legit, but it’s really not a good enough picture to be certain. so general opinions on tag and stamp would be appreciated. Thanks!

Obnoxious is a statement that is obnoxious. I am 68 and still love side pipes never burned a leg I can hear my radio and it is so much easier to get to a failed 65 or 66 antenna.

Working on the rear suspension or transmission is a breeze also!!
