Hi Jerry:

I attempted to stitch together two photos, showing an original cap on the left and a repro on the right. Note the differences in the fonts for the "D" and "W" characters, and the differences in the word spacings. Also, the vents punched in the sides of the domes have a protruding tab on the repro that is not present on the original.

Thanks Joe,

Also the stamping of the top of the dome where the bail rests. The original appears a lot sharper in detail vs the repro, which seems rounded and more muted in detail.

keep in mind, once you use it its no longer nos. its used.
