That one member must have been me. I pulled it up, eye-balled it, but didn't print it...like someone said, what would I do with it?...show it around to my friends?

But...I don't mean to make light of this capability...it's too bad the remaining 20K members don't avail themselves of this site. If Roy Sinor doesn't eventually use this site to send out judging level changes, awards, etc, he'll be missing a good opportunity to cut some of his work load. The internet is going to become like "direct deposit"...if you refuse to become internet literate, you won't get yer "check"!

Lots of NCRS member's don't know their numbers - having a NCRS membership card handy should help. Gary....

I hadn't noticed that. I usually use Firefox but it behaves in the same manner. I can Paste into the "Reply to Thread" frame. It will not copy, or cut. This frame is built on AJAX which is a hybrid of HTML, XHTML, Java, and a couple other things thrown in. I suspect that for the most part I.E. or any other browser for that matter is not even aware that this area exists in the "Page". I just confirmed that by going to View Page Source. None of what I have typed shows up. It is really a figment of my imagination until I click on the Submit Reply button.

Yeah, here's one...add a feature using modern technology to print "membership cards" for Andrew Jackson's fan club; members only, of course.

On a more serious note ...John, is there some reason that the "Edit" feature (cut, paste, delete, etc) is not available by right clicking in the "Reply to Thread" frame as normally seen in IE? If you go to the Edit tab in IE, you can cut, copy, paste and delete highlighted areas, but not in the reply frame.

Well I am glad you cleared that up. Kind of lost me there after the paste part but from living in the 60's I got the figment of my imagination part.

Back in the day. The DI'S did have a knack for getting your attention & a great ability to get one to remember things. Now in basic training you can hold up a stress card if you get yelled at too much & can quit.

Yeah, it was a mistatement for me to reference "IE". Actually, I should have said "all the discussion board software I'm accustomed to"...the old TDB would do it, if I remember correctly, as well as CF's, which is closer to this new TDB.

One other minor thing would help...the thread status icons have a sort of pale pastel vagueness to them that makes it hard to make out the arrows and the "new messages"mail hanging out...Any chance of making them bolder and/or larger for old eyes? Thanks.

There have been a lot of members through the years that have asked about or for memberhip cards. The expense of printing and mailing them and keeping them updated made them hard to justify.

Now through the miracle of modern technology every one that wants one can print their own. The expiration date is taken right from the membership roster so no one has to create them monthly for those who would need to be updated.

More to come! Got any ideas? We might be able to do that?

Now that you ask John,,,, Now that we can show proof to others that we are (up-to-date)members, it may be possible to use them in the future as an id to recieve a discount addmission to some kind of NCRS sponsored events!

You can edit it in the preview pane. ......or should I say at least copy it.

I could also build something similar to the Membership Card that we could all wear to NCRS events as a Name Tag. This would show that we are not only NCRS Members but members of the NCRS Technical Discussion Board. Maybe we could put some faces with the names we see all of the time.
