I went to a local corvrtte club meeting last night and they were saying that the Museum is going to remove the NCRS AND NCCC exibits! Is this correct? If so do we have any say in it? The NCCC rep said that he suggests everyone write a letter to the museum and tell them what we think. He says e-mails won't do much good but a stack of 15-20 k letters might do some good! Have any of you heard about this? I am a museum member but may re -think it next year!

Re: Corvette museum question??
Have you contacted the NCM www.corvettemuseum.com for verification of this action? Sounds somewhat questionable to me.- Top

Re: Corvette museum question??
Wendell Strode addressed this question himself to all NCM Ambassadors back in February. NCRS and NCCC (and a few other organisations) have been made aware of the plans the NCM has for displays in view of the building programme.- Top

Re: Corvette museum question??
What's the logic behind such a move? They cant be that hard up for space; the combined NCRS and NCCC displays take up less space than my wife allows me to use in the spare bedroom for my Corvette memorabilia.
Unless there was some legal liability this moves seems to spite the very people who support the museum. I like to go to the NCCC display to see the patches of the clubs I've belonged too.- Top

Re: Corvette museum question??
So...
does this mean the NCRS is also going to stop supporting the museum financially? That would seem logical to me. If all the effort of past NCRS members, Board level and otherwise, are not sufficiently worthy of a small display then I'm not sure that the NCM is worthy of the club's donations. The NCM would not exist were it not for the NCRS.
Vito, I also sent you an e-mail about a related sub-topic.

Re: Corvette museum question??
Patrick,
I agree with your view that if the NCM can't provide space for one of the original supporters/donors then NCRS should withdraw any further support. I became a NCM member because of NCRS and not the otherway around. I guess I will hold off on my NCM renewal til a later date.

Re: Corvette museum question??
Unless otherwise corrected this is a small minds problem. Someone decided to be PC to eliminate the clubs.... My suggestion remove all NCRS loaned cars from display... Angry can only begin to explain my displesure. I may have to go there and pry up my brick......Eric

Re: Corvette museum question??
As far as I am concerned we should withdraw all support - both from a money and I would think car loan standpoint. I am in complete agreement with others that the NCRS has played the major portion of making the Museum what it is today. If we do get bounced out and I was looking into buying a new vette I would think twice about the factory delivery program which is run through the Museum.- Top

Re: Corvette museum question??
Are they keeping the Dale Earnhardt display? I know He was a great driver and did drive the factory race car but how does he need an area? Should those of us who are active on other forums start posting this info so others out there know the real scoop?- Top

Re: Corvette museum question??
The NCRS materials are stored at the AACA (Antique Automobile Club of America) Library in Hershey, PA. The director of that library is scheduled to give a presentation about those materials and the AACA Library at our convention in St. Charles, MO, in July.Terry- Top
