One other FACT for all that most do not remember or may not know - NCRS does have representation (assume some one does attend?) at the NCM BoD meetings, etc. - so anything being discussed about the NCRS display being removed, etc. should been articulated a LONG time ago

I visited the NCM two years ago and was disappointed with the representation then of the NCRS and also what was available to view for midyears on display. I haven`t joined the NCM but am at a point in my life that I am lucky enough to be able to purchase new Corvettes each year 04,07,08 and am/or was planning to purchase an 09 so got a free membership but also have been buying from the store online and buying raffle tickets on a regular basis. I can invest the same money in C2`s or C3`s and not lose 12,500 a year. Unless they change their current stance I think I will do just that. I think a large percentage of older Corvette Owners also have C5`s and C6`s. Most of the C6`s I pass on the road aren`t teenagers but grayheaded like me.

i bet there are a few people on this web site that wished they only lost $12.5K on a older corvette they had restored.

Clem, I was sort of referring to buying them at a reasonable price (not necessarily stealing them) but driving or storing in the shop. 10 years down the road they will be worth a lot more than a 10 year old C6. Don`t misunderstand I love my C6, they are great cars and I hope this problem with the Museum can be resolved. I would have liked to have seen much greater presence there on older Corvettes especially the midyears. Thats the years that were my teen years and would have given anything to have owned one then but Had a Corvette Appitite on a Mustang pay.

I agree with your view that if the NCM can't provide space for one of the original supporters/donors then NCRS should withdraw any further support. I became a NCM member because of NCRS and not the otherway around. I guess I will hold off on my NCM renewal til a later date.

Dick, I understand your frustration. In the beginning, I was NOT A SUPPORTER and in those days I had just left my post as the REGION IX BOARD DIRECTOR of NCRS.

The problem today is the NCM exits only thru money donations, and has been a focal point for new car deliveries from the plant across the street.

True, NCRS started the whole idea. And crazy old Dan Gale and others gave their lives to the formation of the dream.

What we need today is for a strong committee of NCRS LEADERS to get a staff together and go visit with the NCM Board and let them know how we all feel. And as they say, "open mouth, insert foot"

Most people today do not want to get involved. Wendall is a great leader of the NCM........BUT, the Board of Directors make the call.
