89 front caliper rattle.

My 89 front calipers both rattle when going over bumps. Not sure if it's the calipers or shields. Anyone else experience this noise and fix it lately....thanks.

There are several possibilities. First, there's the possibility of missing pin clips. These are GM #10132842, but they're discontinued.

Second, there's the possibility of worn pins. These are GM #10140586 but they're also discontinued.

Next, there's the possibility of worn caliper mounting brackets. These are GM #10181205, left, and 10181206, right. You guessed it; they're discontinued, too.

The above part numbers apply if you have JL9 brakes (standard). I don't think any 1989's were delivered with J55 HD brakes, but it's possible. You can easily tell by checking your "service parts identification label".

Although all the above parts are GM-discontinued, I think they are available from aftermarket sources like Vette Brakes, etc.
