Can anyone tell me the exact size needed to remove the temp sending unit? When I tried a couple of nights ago, I didn't have a large enough wrench, so I want to stop tonight and pick up a wrench or socket that will fit so I can remove it. Thanks.

Kirk,
7/8" is too small for a 67 S/B 300 HP. I tried both a 6 point and 12 point.
15/16" 12 point, or use one of those 31/32" plumbing fixture sockets.
If you get a set of those plumbing fixture sockets, you can also use them to change the washers on your tub, shower and faucets around the house.Multi-use tools keep the wife happy.

Re: Gerry, Gerry, Gerry
Everyone knows that mixing household and automotive tools is like switching back and forth between Scotch and Vodka drinks. It can be disasterous my friend.
Have you ever seen what a 1/2" drive wratchet with a 3/8" socket can do to a faucet stem?......Not a pretty sight Gerry......
