    "67 Temp Sending Unit - Wrench/Socket Size

Can anyone tell me the exact size needed to remove the temp sending unit? When I tried a couple of nights ago, I didn't have a large enough wrench, so I want to stop tonight and pick up a wrench or socket that will fit so I can remove it. Thanks.

I don't have one here in front of me at the moment but memory tells me it is 7/8.

Thanks guys. Saves me a trip after I get home, which now-a-days means $10.00 in gas!

            Kirk,

            7/8" is too small for a 67 S/B 300 HP. I tried both a 6 point and 12 point.

15/16" 12 point, or use one of those 31/32" plumbing fixture sockets.

If you get a set of those plumbing fixture sockets, you can also use them to change the washers on your tub, shower and faucets around the house. Multi-use tools keep the wife happy.

              Re: Gerry, Gerry, Gerry

Everyone knows that mixing household and automotive tools is like switching back and forth between Scotch and Vodka drinks. It can be disasterous my friend.

Have you ever seen what a 1/2" drive wratchet with a 3/8" socket can do to a faucet stem?......Not a pretty sight Gerry......

My wife doesn't realize there are two different sets of tools in the house now, so I'm sure not gonna mention "muti-functional" tools to her now!!! She might actually start paying attention then!
