Yes I removed all the out side parts with no body work having to be done from years of driving it.$2,500.00 . The 55 never never had or needed any body work ,not even any cracks when I striped it for the first paint job .
I live in a small town not the big city and dint have some one with a big name paint it or a restoration shop paint it.
My painter dint spend 1000 hours on it , just a light sanding leaving the original waviness in the body , it was done in two days .
NCRS people that have seen it cant believe what I paid for painting it, Oh will I'm not going to argue with them. And it looks as good as this pic. Today. With out doing any body work 15K to paint a corvette. Beam me up Scotty .
And if any one chooses not to believe me so be it!!
Roy, the only way I'm gonna believe you is if you get your same guy to paint mine for the same price.....

Only kidding....I love your car. That color is beautiful and I am envious that you have it and not me.

You could save yourself most of the expense by doing the prep yourself. I've stripped and painted two cars, one a 67 Vette coupe, and it does take a lot of time, but you can do most of it while you drive the car and take a few months to attend to the problem areas. Once prepped, find someone who will shoot the paint on, unless you are practiced and confident yourself. Also, I've seen quite good work come out of the chain paint shops once the owner did the prep work. If the body is basically good, but the paint faded but otherwise sound, then you merely have to color sand the whole car, using the existing paint as the "primer," attend to the problem areas and prime them, then shoot the new paint on top. Basically, you are using your time to save your money.

This is my 20 year old laquer job I did in my garage. it still looks great but has a patina and only a few minor issues. Was originally Milano Maroon and I am now thinking about sanding this paint as a base & re shooting since I stripped for the last paint job. Not crazy about Milano Maroon (I like maroon) but I should probably go bact to it.

Beautiful paint job Brian! Nothing like the pride of doing it yourself!

Now that there is funny, I don't care who you are....

Don you have any children you are fond of to leave the car(s) to? If not, please know that I am very adoptable.

Good luck with the paint job....
