Here's a pic of the stamp on the radiator.
You are not the only one with brain fade. I can't believe I didn't catch it either Michael. It's typical to see a nice 16 CT stamp on radiators of most restored 63's. I never gave it a seconds though until you mentioned it.
Meanwhile my original rad doesn't have OK CT or 16 CT. JD

Mike, my early 64 (50--) with radiator dated 63K has remnants of a stamp that size in the same location, but it illegible. Also it's kinda green and black.

From start of 63 production in Sept 62 to some point, probably around mid/late November 62, the original location for a paper coolant label was on the left top side of the radiator. The pic's below are of a brand new early production car being road tested by Road & Track magazine. (I have the original 8X10 photos)
Obvious signs that tell us this car is early production are the painted or zincad plated items that later became chrome such as the oil filler tube/cap, fuel lines, fuel filter bracket etc.
Note that there is a second short paper sticker on the coolant supply tank. The radiator sticker was removed and only a small clear 1"X1" sticker would be seen after November 62.
The white paper coolant sticker story gets very confusing so we won't go into that now.

This is the unrestored Lance Miller 63 with a VIN in the 19,xxx range. No coolant caution label is present and no 16-CT white ink stamp. Only the 1"x1" clear sticker with a green numeral.

Checked two old radiators in the attic this morning. One dated 62J and the other dated 63G. Neither had any evidence of a white stamp.

I checked mine, there is evidence that the bolts have been turned, cannot verify originality, so, I better not say.

So what would be the correct process for duplicating this 1"x1" clear plastic stamp with the green mark (or #) on it during a restoration? All i've ever seen available is the white CT16 stamp.

                    Jim,

Actually, I'd be surprised if there wasn't a reproduction of the small clear sticker because it's the very same sticker that was on every coolant supply tank, at least 63 and 64. I think it was probably used right through 67, or possibly later, on the supply tank.
Does anyone know if this is reproduced?

Mike, I just noticed a good explanation in a Corvette Central catalog. It shows the two stamps and says put the #3 on the expansion tank and #7 on the radiator. They appear white with green numbers, but I guess that's a backing material and when you peel it off you have a clear sticker.

My order from Corvette Central just arrived. The package contains two stickers, a number 3 and a number 7. The are clear plastic with a sticky backing. When applied to metal all you will see is the green number 3 or 7. Should work nicely!
